Craft Glass are often asked to install double glazing into Crittall windows or old steel windows and we’re happy to say this can absolutely be done!
We have completed many projects where double glazing is required while retaining the old Crittall windows or metal window frames and we have even adapted flat iron casement to accommodate double glazed units.
Although double glazed metal windows will help with thermal values, sometimes when you shut a metal window there are no draught seals, which results in remaining draughts and insulation still lost.
Draught sealing the opening parts of your window can help but this is usually self-adhesive and may need to be replaced over time but we can help you to find the best solution for your property.
